From the very first page, he is confronted by the mysterious and menacing life of the vampire. Xander's story takes Robert from the first flourish of evil in the 1300s to the Victorian origins of the sensational Count Dracula. The once distant and abstract life of Xander suddenly becomes all too real as it takes over Robert's life. Robert is driven into an obsessive search for the truth. At its end he unearths a desperate choice, the consequences of which will change his life forever.
